Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 30, 2026 · Last updated: June 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Yummy Feed Inc. ("Yummy Feed", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Yummy Feed mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

If you have questions, contact us at yummyfeedapp@gmail.com or 87 Savin Hill Avenue, Apt #3, Dorchester, MA 02125.

1. Who we are

Yummy Feed is a social recipe app. You can create and import recipes, log the dishes you make, rate and rank them, follow friends, and see what people on your campus are cooking. The Service is operated by Yummy Feed Inc., located at 87 Savin Hill Avenue, Apt #3, Dorchester, MA 02125.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide directly

  • Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique account identifier and, where you permit it, your email and name from that provider. (Sign in with Apple may provide a private relay email address rather than your real one.)
  • Profile information. Your chosen username (@handle), display name, biography, profile photo (avatar), and a location/campus label.
  • Content you create. Recipes (titles, ingredients, steps, photos), "makes" (photos, notes, and the ratings/scores you assign), comments, collections, saves, and likes.
  • Social connections. Friend requests and friendships, and the users you block or report.
  • Communications. If you email our support address, we receive your message and contact details.

Information collected automatically

  • Precise and approximate location. With your permission, and only while you are using the app ("When In Use"), we collect your device location to keep your feed, friends, and recommendations local to your campus. You can decline or revoke this permission in your device settings; the app remains usable without it.
  • Usage and analytics data. We use PostHog to understand how the Service is used (for example, which screens are viewed and which actions are taken). This includes a per-user "campus" property and a pseudonymous identifier tied to your account. PostHog processing for our project occurs in the United States.
  • Diagnostics and crash data. We use Sentry to record crashes and errors, including device type, operating system, app version, and the technical context of the error, so we can fix problems. Sentry processing for our project occurs in the United States.
  • Device and log information. Standard technical information such as app version and general device characteristics, used to operate and secure the Service.

Information from the recipe-import feature

  • When you paste a web link to import a recipe, our servers fetch that public web page. If the page does not contain machine-readable recipe data, the page's text may be sent to a third-party AI provider (DeepSeek) to extract the recipe fields. We send only the page content you asked us to import; we do not send your personal account data to the AI provider.

We do not collect payment card information (the Service is currently free), and we do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

3. How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • create and maintain your account and profile;
  • provide core features — feeds, recipes, makes, ratings, friends, search, and recommendations;
  • keep your experience local to your campus (where you grant location);
  • operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service (analytics and crash reporting);
  • enforce our Terms of Service and our content policies, including reviewing reports and removing objectionable content or abusive users;
  • respond to your support requests; and
  • comply with legal obligations.

4. How we share information

We share information only as described here:

  • With other users. Your profile and the content you make public (recipes, makes, comments, etc.) are visible to other users of the Service. Blocked users cannot see your content and you cannot see theirs.
  • With service providers ("processors") who operate the Service on our behalf, under contract and only as needed to provide their service:
    • Supabase — application hosting, authentication, database, and file storage (United States (AWS us-east-1));
    • Apple and Google — sign-in (only if you choose those methods);
    • PostHog — product analytics (United States);
    • Sentry — crash and error diagnostics (United States);
    • DeepSeek — recipe extraction for the import feature (only the page content you import).
  • For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Yummy Feed.
  • In a business transfer. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any change in control or use of your information.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Your rights and choices

  • Access and correction. You can view and edit your profile information in the app at any time.
  • Deletion. You can permanently delete your account and associated content from within the app at Settings → Delete account. This removes your auth account, your profile, your recipes and makes, and your uploaded photos. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
  • Data export. To request a copy of your data, contact yummyfeedapp@gmail.com.
  • Location. You can grant or revoke location access in your device settings.
  • Region-specific rights. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact yummyfeedapp@gmail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

6. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete your personal content as described above; limited records may be retained where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including access-controlled, row-level-secured storage and encrypted transport. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact yummyfeedapp@gmail.com and we will delete it.

9. International users

The Service is operated from the United States and uses U.S.-based service providers (Supabase United States (AWS us-east-1), PostHog, Sentry). If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
